Quick Verdict

One power cable, no Firestick, no soundbar, and an 80 to 85 inch screen on a bare bedroom wall. The Lisowod L61Pro is probably my favorite smart projector I’ve tested in years, and the AI autofocus is the reason.

Buy if you:

  • Want Netflix, YouTube and Apple TV built in with zero extra devices
  • Move a projector room to room or hotel to hotel and hate re-focusing
  • Refuse to buy a separate soundbar for movie night
  • Want a huge screen out of a 2.4 lb package

One Power Cable. That’s The Whole Setup.

Before I played a single frame, I counted the cables running to the L61Pro. There was one. Not one HDMI plus power. One power cable, total. For anyone who’s ever spent twenty minutes untangling a projector setup behind a couch, that’s the whole pitch right there. That’s all you need to start. This smart projector from Lisowod runs WiFi and Bluetooth, so you can cast from other devices, privately or publicly, and you don’t need an HDMI at all.

They do include an HDMI cable in the box, so I could plug in my Apple TV or a DVD player if I wanted to. But the cool thing is I don’t have to. No Firestick. No soundbar. No setup headaches. For a 2.4 lb box, that’s a lot of clutter gone.

What’s Actually Inside The L61Pro

It runs on the Movin 2.0 OS with a quad-core A55 processor, and every popular streaming app is pre-installed. I connected it to my home network and every app was just there. I didn’t install anything. There’s USB, an external speaker output, and a little flap that lifts up when it wakes. A remote is included, though the two AAA batteries it needs are not.

The Autofocus Is The Trick That Sold Me

Move it and it fixes itself in seconds. I picked the unit up and shifted it mid-playback, and it noticed right away that it needed to refocus. The screen went soft, then snapped back, and it flashed “correction completed.” That is a pretty cool system. Because this thing is so portable, I’d carry it from room to room, from hotel to hotel, really anywhere. On a fixed stand it’d stay put, but the whole point here is you don’t have to babysit the focus every time you nudge it.

Then there’s the picture. I ran YouTube straight off the built-in app and it’s your regular YouTube experience, nothing stripped down. It takes a 4K signal in, and in all fairness it doesn’t hand you a true 4K resolution, it’s 1920×1080. But it upscales that 4K input, which is a really nice thing. On a plain wall in my bedroom, roughly 7 to 8 feet back, I was looking at an 80 to 85 inch image with sharp definition and high contrast. This is not on a special screen or special paint, just my wall. A proper matte white screen would tighten blacks and kill the texture bleed you get off drywall, worth the upgrade if you plan to use it in one room permanently.

And the 50W speaker surprised me most. We’ve all seen projectors with built-in speakers, and they’re always faint, always low quality. This one is really loud. I played a nature documentary clip and cranked the volume with the quick-access buttons on top, and it filled the room with immersive sound. No soundbar needed. That is super cool.

The 4K Label Isn’t The Whole Story

It’s marketed as 4K, but the panel is 1080p. Let me be clear on this because it’s the one thing a buyer needs to know before clicking. The L61Pro accepts and decodes a 4K signal, and it upscales, but the actual output resolution is 1920×1080. I paused a clip mid-review to point at this exact thing on screen. The upscaling looks clean and the color is rich, so for casual movie nights you won’t feel shortchanged. But if you’re the kind of person who wants pixel-for-pixel native 4K, this isn’t that, and the listing leans hard on the 4K wording. Know what you’re buying.

Who This Projector Is For

This is the projector for people who hate friction. If you want to walk into a room, plug in one cable, and be watching Netflix in under a minute, this nails it. Renters and travelers get the most out of it, because carrying a 2.4 lb box between rooms or into a hotel and having it auto-correct itself is the whole appeal. Backyard movie nights work too, thanks to the WiFi, Bluetooth and that loud 50W Dolby audio, so you’re not dragging a soundbar outside.

Families who just want big-screen movies without a home theater rack will love it. You can shrink the image if you don’t have a huge wall, or push it out to 80-plus inches if you do. Everything can be adjusted. It’s flexible in a way most bulky projectors aren’t.

Setup Tips Before Your First Movie Night

Grab two AAA batteries first, because the remote needs them and they aren’t in the box. That’s the one setup gotcha. Connect it to your WiFi right away so all the pre-installed apps come alive, since most of what makes this a smart projector lives online. If you can, project onto a real screen instead of a bare wall, because I saw sharp results on plain drywall and it’d be far better with a proper surface. And even though the autofocus is fast, remember you can fine-tune it manually after it says “correction completed” if you want it perfect.

Pros

  • Only one power cable to get started, no HDMI or streaming stick required
  • AI autofocus re-corrects in seconds every time you move it
  • Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV and more built in over WiFi 6
  • 50W speaker is loud and immersive, no soundbar needed
  • 80 to 85 inch sharp, high-contrast image from a 2.4 lb body

Cons

  • Marketed as 4K but outputs 1920×1080 with upscaling, not native 4K
  • Remote batteries not included
  • Looks its best on a real screen, a plain wall undersells it

What we’d improve

Two small things the next version could tidy up:

  • The 4K wording, the listing leans on “4K” when the real output is 1080p with upscaling. Clearer labeling would set expectations right.
  • Toss in the AAA batteries, the remote is essential to navigate the apps, so shipping it without the batteries it needs is an easy fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a Firestick or streaming device with the Lisowod L61Pro?

No. Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV and other apps are pre-installed, so you connect to WiFi and they’re ready. I didn’t install anything myself. It’s a self-contained streaming hub, no external stick needed.

Is it really 4K?

It accepts and decodes a 4K signal but the actual output is 1920×1080, then upscaled. So it’s not native 4K. The upscaled picture still looks clean and colorful for movies, but manage your expectations if you want true pixel-level 4K.

Does it need to be plugged in, or does it have a battery?

It runs off a single power cable, which is the only cable you need to get going. The portability is about how light and small it is, not a built-in battery, so plan on having an outlet nearby wherever you set it up.

Can I use it outdoors for a backyard movie night?

Yes, it’s well suited to it. The WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2 and loud 50W Dolby speaker mean you don’t need to haul out a soundbar. Just make it dark enough and have power access, since it shines best without competing light.

How does the autofocus work?

Move the projector and it detects the change and refocuses automatically in seconds, flashing “correction completed” when done. I lifted it mid-playback and it snapped back sharp on its own. You can also fine-tune it manually afterward if you want it exact.

Can I connect my Apple TV, DVD player or a soundbar?

Yes. It includes an HDMI cable, so you can plug in an Apple TV, a DVD player or similar. There’s also USB and an external speaker output, plus Bluetooth 5.2 if you’d rather pair wireless headphones or an external speaker.

How big can the screen get?

I got an estimated 80 to 85 inch image from roughly 7 to 8 feet back. You can shrink it down if your wall is small, or push it larger with more distance. The image scales to your space rather than locking you into one size.

Does the remote come with batteries?

No, the remote needs two AAA batteries and they aren’t included. Grab a pair before your first session, because you’ll want the remote to navigate the apps and menus.

Will a plain wall look good or do I need a screen?

A plain wall looks surprisingly clean, I tested it on bare drywall with no special paint. That said, a proper projector screen would make it noticeably better. Start with your wall and upgrade to a screen later if you want to squeeze out more.

Bottom line: if you want a tiny smart projector that skips the Firestick, the soundbar and the setup headaches, this is the one I’d point you to. Get it here.
