Quick Verdict
One little cube, four AC outlets, three USB ports, and it charges seven devices at once. We bought a two-pack for a South Korea and Japan trip and it’s the whole reason our carry-on isn’t full of adapter blocks. The one thing to know: it’s an adapter, not a transformer.
Buy if you:
- Travel to Europe or South Korea and charge phones plus laptops
- Want one plug that runs four devices off a single wall socket
- Hate lugging bulky adapter blocks in a carry-on
- Travel as a group and need a couple of these
Skip if you:
- Plan to run a hair dryer or straightener off it. This doesn’t convert voltage, so single-voltage heat tools won’t work
- Need a Type G plug for the UK or Ireland. This is a Type E/F round-prong design
- Expect surge protection built in. There isn’t any

A South Korea Trip Is Why We Bought This Travel Plug Adapter
Three people, two countries, one carry-on between us, and the last thing we wanted was a fistful of adapter blocks. So before the South Korea and Japan trip we picked up the TESSAN Type E F Travel Plug Adapter PD 20W, a single cube that turned out to replace every adapter we’d have otherwise packed.
We got the two-pack because there are three of us and one adapter between the group was never going to cut it. What sold us wasn’t the price or the packaging. It was how much this does off a single socket.
Four Outlets, Three USB Ports, One Little Cube
Look around the cube and you’ve got four North American-style AC outlets, three two-prong and one three-prong grounded, spread across its faces. That means a laptop brick, a camera charger, and a travel extension strip can all run off the single wall socket you grabbed at the hotel.
What really attracted us to this particular model is the USB-A and the two USB-C ports. That adds so much functionality to this little unit. One USB-C runs 20W for fast charging, and the rest cap at 12W each. Add it up and you can charge seven devices at the same time off one plug.
4 Ounces: It Disappears Into Any Bag
We’ve seen adapters that are big blocks, the kind that feel super awkward jammed into a wall behind a nightstand. At roughly 4 ounces this disappears into a bag.
And this is so simple. There’s nothing here that you need to toggle or break away or flip on and off. No sliders, no fold-out prongs to line up. The plug is right there, you push it in the wall, and you’re good to go. For a group traveling through South Korea and hopping into Europe after, that simplicity is the whole appeal.
The Caveat: This Is an Adapter, Not a Transformer

There’s a big caveat, and it’s the thing you actually need to know. This is an adapter, not a transformer. It changes the shape of the plug so it fits a foreign socket. It does not change the voltage.
So if you do need to transform your current, you need a separate transformer for that. The good news is the two play nicely together. If you’ve got a North American transformer, you add this adapter to it and you’re good to go. So the two will work.
In our case it doesn’t matter, because we’re charging phones and laptops. Those already have their transformers built in. So we don’t need any of that extra gear, just these two little things. Where this trips people up is heat tools. A single-voltage hair dryer, straightener, or curling iron will not work off this alone. Check that your device supports 100 to 250V before you plug it in.

Who This Travel Plug Adapter Actually Suits
This is built for the person charging phones, tablets, and laptops abroad. That’s most travelers. It works across a long list of Type E/F countries: France, Germany, Spain, South Korea, Greece, Portugal, Iceland, Poland, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, and more. If your trip is a Europe-and-South-Korea combo like ours, one design covers all of it.
Groups are the other obvious fit. We got the two-pack for three people, and one adapter per person still beats hunting for free outlets in a cramped hotel room. Cruise travelers benefit too, since there’s no surge protection and no cords, which is exactly what most cruise lines require.
Buying Advice Before You Pack It
Check your device labels first. Look for “100-240V” printed near the plug or on the brick. Phone and laptop chargers almost always say it. Hair tools usually don’t, and that’s the number one reason travelers fry something on day one.
Confirm the plug type for your exact destination. This is a Type E/F round-prong adapter, so it covers most of continental Europe and South Korea. It won’t fit UK, Ireland, or Switzerland’s Type G and Type J sockets, so double-check before you assume one adapter covers a multi-country trip. And if you’re traveling with anyone, grab the two-pack. It’s cheaper than buying a second one later and nobody fights over the charger at night.
Pros
- Four AC outlets plus three USB ports off one wall socket, up to seven devices at once
- Two USB-C ports (one at 20W fast charge) and a USB-A, which adds real flexibility
- Tiny and light at about 4 oz, no bulky block sticking out of the wall
- Dead simple, nothing to toggle, flip, or fold out
- Covers a wide list of Type E/F countries including Europe and South Korea
Cons
- It’s an adapter, not a transformer, so single-voltage hair dryers and straighteners won’t work off it alone
- No surge protection built in
- Type E/F only, so it won’t fit UK, Ireland, or Switzerland sockets
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the TESSAN adapter convert voltage?
No. It’s an adapter, not a transformer. It changes the plug shape so it fits a foreign socket, but it doesn’t change voltage. Your device has to support 100 to 250V dual voltage, which nearly all phones and laptops already do.
Will it work in South Korea and Europe on the same trip?
Yes. It’s a Type E/F design that covers South Korea plus most of continental Europe, so France, Spain, Germany, and the rest all work off the one adapter. That’s exactly why we picked it for a South Korea and Japan itinerary.
Can I use it with a curling iron or hair dryer?
Only if the tool supports dual voltage (100-250V). Since this doesn’t convert current, a single-voltage heat tool won’t work on it alone. You’d need a separate transformer for that, and the two can be used together.
How many devices can it charge at once?
Up to seven at the same time. You get four AC outlets and three USB ports (two USB-C and one USB-A) in the one cube, so a whole nightstand of gear can charge off a single socket.
Does it work in the UK or Ireland?
No. This is a Type E/F round-prong adapter, and the UK and Ireland use the Type G three-rectangular-prong socket. You’d need a different adapter for those countries.
Is there surge protection?
No, there’s no surge protection and no cords. That’s actually why it’s cruise-ship friendly, since many cruise lines ban surge-protected devices onboard.
How fast does the USB-C port charge?
One USB-C port runs 20W PD fast charging, which is quick enough for a phone. The second USB-C and the USB-A cap at 12W each, so spread your fast-charging device across the 20W port.
Is it worth getting the two-pack?
If you travel with anyone, yes. We bought the two-pack for a group of three, and having more than one adapter means nobody’s waiting on the single charger overnight. Each unit already handles seven devices, so two covers a whole family easily.
If your trip hits any Type E/F country and you’re charging phones, tablets, or laptops, this cube handles all seven devices off one socket and weighs less than a deck of cards. Check the two-pack, at this price it’s cheaper than buying a second one at the airport.
