Quick Verdict

The reheat button did it. I’ve never seen a toaster that just reheats a cold slice without over-browning it, and the Tesslux 4 slice toaster does exactly that plus a memory feature that saves your setting. It looks like a little spaceship, and for once the fancy actually earns its spot on the counter.

Buy if you:

  • Want a countdown timer so you’re not standing there guessing how long toast takes
  • Toast a lot of different breads (bagels, waffles, muffins, gluten-free) and want a preset for each
  • Reheat cold toast constantly and hate re-burning it
  • Care that a toaster matches your kitchen (black, white, silver)

My Slice Toaster’s Unexpected Memory Feature

I’ve tested a lot of toasters, and they all do basically the same thing. The Tesslux 4 Slice is the first one that made me stop and re-read the manual, not because it was confusing, but because it has a “like” button that saves your exact bread-type and browning-level combination for next time. Mine’s the black version; it also comes in white and silver if that matters for your counter.

Most of this is regular toaster stuff. Four slots, two slices on each side, a spot for bagels. But there are two features on this slice toaster I’d never seen before, and they’re the reason I kept playing with it.

What the Touchscreen Actually Controls

The touchscreen runs everything, and it’s the part that shines. You tap what you’re doing first, white bread, bagel, gluten-free, pastry, muffin, or waffle, so there are six bread modes to pick from. Then you choose your toastiness level. There are six browning levels, and personally I’m sitting right around number three. That’s my jam.

It also defrosts and reheats, which I’ll get to. The bagel setting even shows a little picture of how to insert your bagel, which stops the guessing. Here are the numbers that matter before you buy.

The Countdown Timer Kills the Waiting Game

The live timer is quietly the best thing here. I loaded one slice of white bread, tapped white bread on the screen, set it to level three, and pushed it down. The screen immediately showed me how long it was going to take and counted down. When I looked, it was down to the last eight seconds.

If you’re anything like me, you stand at the counter thinking this is taking a really long time. Now there’s a visual. No more sitting and wondering. You just glance at the number. It’s a small change to how toasting feels, but it takes the guessing out of your morning, which is the whole pitch of this slice toaster.

My First Batch Came Out a Shade Too Light

Level three came out pale, more warmed than toasted, with almost no color on the crust. I bumped to level four on the second batch and that was the sweet spot. If you’re used to a dial toaster where “medium” means actually brown, start at four and work from there.

That’s the catch with a preset-heavy toaster. The numbers give you a starting point, not a guarantee, and your perfect setting takes a round or two to dial in. The upside is that once you find it, you don’t have to keep hunting, which brings me to the feature I keep going back to.

Tesslux 4 Slice Toaster with Touch Screen Control Review

The Reheat and Memory Features I’ve Never Seen Before

Tesslux 4 Slice Toaster with Touch Screen Control, 1.5" Wide Long Slots, 6 Browning Levels & 6 Bread Types, Digital Time

Two things on this toaster surprised me. First, reheat. I’ve never seen a toaster that will just reheat previously toasted bread without over-browning it, and I think that’s awesome. If you’ve ever nuked a cold slice or run it through again and burned it, this solves that.

Second, the memory. Let’s say I loved my white bread at a certain level. You can put a “like” on that setting, and the next time you do white bread it remembers exactly how you take it. One tap. I’ve never seen that in a toaster before, and it’s the feature that makes this feel like more than a toaster. It kind of looks like a little spaceship, and it does so many different things while still looking fantastic on the counter.

Who This Toaster Is For

This is for the household that toasts a bit of everything. Bagels one morning, gluten-free bread the next, a waffle after that, each with its own mode and its own saved setting. If your kitchen runs on different breads and different people who like their toast different ways, the memory feature saves you time fast.

It also suits anyone who cares how the appliance looks. With black, white, and silver options and that spaceship-clean face, it’s designed to match your decor instead of hiding in a cabinet. And at 15.55 inches wide, plan a spot for it, it takes up real counter space.

Touchscreen vs a Regular Lever Toaster

A basic lever toaster wins on simplicity. There’s nothing to learn, you turn one dial and push down, and it’s usually cheaper. If that’s all you need, you don’t need this.

Where this slice toaster with touch controls pulls ahead is repeatability and range. A regular toaster can’t reheat without re-toasting, can’t tell you how long is left, and definitely can’t remember your favorite setting per bread type. The trade is that you’re tapping through a screen instead of grabbing a knob, and you spend the first couple of batches finding your number. For me, the timer, reheat, and memory were worth that.

Advice Before You Buy

Don’t trust your first batch. Start a notch lighter than you think, look at the result, then bump the browning level up one and save it with the “like” button. Once it’s stored, mornings get a lot faster because your setting is one tap away.

Use reheat instead of running a second full cycle, that’s what keeps it from going dark on you. And measure before it arrives: at 15.55 inches wide it needs a permanent spot, not a “I’ll figure it out” spot. If the timer, reheat, and memory are features you’d actually use, buy it. If you just want bread browned, a $25 lever toaster will do.

Pros

  • Live countdown timer so you always know how long toast will take
  • Reheat mode warms cold toast without over-browning it
  • Memory “like” function saves your favorite setting per bread type
  • Six bread modes plus six browning levels for real control
  • Looks fantastic and comes in black, white, and silver

Cons

  • Finding your ideal browning level takes a batch or two (my first came out a touch light)
  • Touchscreen instead of physical knobs won’t suit everyone
  • At 15.55 inches wide it needs a dedicated counter spot

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you clean the Tesslux 4 slice toaster?

It has a removable crumb tray that slides out for a quick empty and rinse. That keeps crumbs off your counter, and you just wipe the outside down. Don’t submerge the toaster itself.

Will it fit thick sourdough or artisan slices?

Yes. The two slots are 1.5 inches wide and run long, so thick artisan slices, sourdough, bagels, and standard loaves all fit. It’s built for chunkier bread, not just thin sandwich slices.

What does the “like” memory feature actually save?

It saves your chosen bread type and browning level together. So after you set white bread to your favorite level and tap like, the next white-bread session recalls it in one tap. You’re not re-entering settings every morning.

Does it really reheat toast without burning it?

Yes, that’s exactly what the reheat function is for. It warms already-toasted bread back up without pushing it darker. It’s the feature I’d never seen on a toaster before and it works as described.

Can it toast frozen bread?

Yes, there’s a dedicated defrost mode. It thaws frozen slices before toasting so you don’t end up with a warm outside and a still-frozen middle. Handy if you freeze bagels or bread.

How big is it on the counter?

It measures 15.55 × 7.48 × 7.48 inches (W×D×H). It’s a full-size 4-slice unit, so measure your space before buying. It’s not something that tucks into a tight corner.

What colors does it come in?

Black, white, and silver. I tested the black. Pick whichever matches your kitchen since the design is meant to sit out on display rather than hide away.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, Tesslux backs it with a 12-month warranty plus customer support. Register or keep your order details in case you need to reach them for a replacement or technical help.

Do you have to use the touchscreen for every setting?

Yes, the panel controls bread type, browning level, defrost, reheat, cancel, and the memory function. There are no physical knobs. If you prefer tactile dials, this style won’t be for you, but the screen is clear and shows everything in one view.
